It's Go By Bike week here in Vernon, and some folks have been riding to work and around town as part of the initiative, hopefully helping to both keep our roads a little more vacant of vehicles, and to promote personal health while getting around town.
If you haven't used it, we do have a pretty great extra-wide, multi-use path through the middle of town. It's flat and much quieter than riding along 27th or the highway. I'd recommend checking it out... it also so happens to lead directly to the Polson Night Market :)
So tonite, as our part of the celebrations, we have the bike market. Active Transport from the City of Vernon will be there, along with Julie from NOCS, to give away swaggy items and various prizes for folks coming down on their bikes. We'll also have a bike parade at 630. It's beach-themed, but if you don't have many beachy items, don't worry, we'll have a decoration station set up so you can get decked out ahead of time for free.
We also have 2 musicians tonite, with Rosie Gabrielle coming to play from 4 to 6, and Melodaddy coming from 6 to 8.
For dinner tonite we've got Kamui, Wicked Waffles, Samosa Joes, Two Sparrows Pizza, and D Dutchman Ice Cream with Trisha's Treats.
In addition we've got close to 50 vendors, and you can see the whole list here.
